What is your opinion on catered buffets at weddings?

It's fine. It's YOUR wedding. And it's a perfectly normal, acceptable option. It's especially common if your budget is smaller, since it's cheaper than one with waiters and place settings. Someone who would look down upon you or criticize your choice of this is rude and tacky and low-cl themselves. I think your reasoning is excellent.
