I want to go to amsterdam, what is the best way to conserve money in regards to the flight, hotel, car?

In regards to flight, car, and a hotel room, how is the best way to conserve money while on a trip to Amsterdam? There will probably be 3-5 adults going. Also how much money in U.S. dollars should i take or how much should i convert to euro or w/e?
