I see you didn't really ask a question, but the implication is why someone who has studiend the language for some time still can't understand it in the spoken context. Well, that's one of the old language teaching problems. However, the thing to remember is that the person who has that book learning background is going to follow the spoken language after only a very short exposure to it. It's nothing to worry about.
