Why do Christians want people to think it takes 'as much faith' to believe in Evolution than creationism?

A lot of Creationists seem to say things like 'it takes just as much faith to believe in evolution', it's their little attempt to drag down evolution to the same level as creation. Let's get this straight, Evolution is a theory that was FORMED on scientific research, there is much evidence to support it, that's why it's so accepted, also look around you, you have you are a mammal, see the connection? Whereas Creationists believe a man with magic powers created the universe, not to sound insulting but that's what they believe, a belief that defies the laws of physics and has NO such evidence, and what do they support this whole belief on, a two-thousand year old book... now YOU tell ME in what way does Evolution defy physics, or logic, and how on earth can you compare it to belief in the supernatural?
