Poppy Z. Brite has some excellent vampire novels set in New Orleans. There are three, but they aren't a series just set in the same area and mood. The titles are Lost Souls, Drawing Blood, and Exquisite Corpse. Francrsca Lia Block's Weetzie Bat series is fantastic as well.
